Snowshoe Day Trips
Every Monday, Friday and Sunday in winter at 9 am at the start of the snowshoe trail "Forest des Estaris" in Orcières Merlette.
Directions
- From Gap, take the N85 towards Grenoble. Before the Col Bayard, turn onto the D944 towards the Col de Manse
- Follow D944 towards Orcière Merlette
Hike
- Departure in the direction of Lake Jujal
- South-facing itinerary.
Meeting point:
- Car park in the Orcières Merlette technical area
Required gear:
- Backpack
- Minimum 2 liters of water
- Snack and energy bars
- Waterproof jacket and pants
- Warm layers
- Hat
- Sunscreen
- Extra top
- Sunglasses
- Warm hat
- Gloves

You should already be used to walking in the mountains for 3 - 4 hours.
You don't need any previous snowshoeing experience - it's really quite easy.
You should arrive at the meeting point with your snowshoes and a pair of poles.
It is possible to hire on site in Orcières Merlette (booking required in advance).
