3-Day Winter Hike in the Queyras

The Queyras is a massif that lends itself particularly well to snowshoeing. This Alpine mountain range is renowned for its GR58 hiking route - the famous Tour du Queyras - and has a truly unspoilt natural environment in the heart of its Regional Nature Park. Combined with an exceptional amount of sunshine (300 days a year on average), this unique climate makes the Queyras an area perfectly suited to outdoor winter activities.

When you book your three-day trip, your guide Fabrice will tell you what you'll need to bring in your backpack.

Level required: :

You should be able to walk for 3 to 5 hours in the mountains. You don't need to have done any snowshoeing before, it's very straightforward.

3-Day Program

With Fabrice Hikes as your professional guide, you'll have a safe and fun winter experience in the mountains as you climb a peak over 3000 metres high.

On the 1st day, leaving from the Ariane bridge, we'll head for the Agnel refuge to spend our first night. Along the way, we'll learn how to use an avalanche transceiver and take a basic look at snow conditions.

The following day, we'll begin our ascent of the 3025-metre-high Pic de Caramantran. We will then head back down to spend the night at the Refuge de la Blanche.

On the last day, we return to the car via the Col du Longuet, which takes us back to the valley we came up on the first day.

The maximum elevation gain per day is 500 metres and the distance covered is 8 km.
